Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actress and producer. She is gaining recognition for her stellar performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Piano, as well as The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards and awards, among them an Oscar for her film Piano. Her career in acting started in Broadway through a myriad of Broadway as well as Off Broadway productions. She has had a passion for acting ever since she was in high school. The first time she appeared in a play in fifth grade was Helen Keller. As a result of having mumps, she became deaf in one of the sides the ear. This was not enough to stop her desire to be an actress. The college she attended was drama after which she moved between Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her dream. Hunter was able to make her Broadway debut following a chance meeting with Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. As she relocated from New York to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get movie roles. A supporting role was found for her in Swing Shift. Her professional career spans over 30 years and she's appeared in many TV movies or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
